Plot

Becca and younger brother Tyler say goodbye to their mother as they board a train to Pennsylvania to meet their maternal grandparents for the very first time. Welcomed by Nana and Pop Pop, all seems well until the siblings start to notice increasingly strange behavior from the seemingly perfect couple. Once the children discover a shocking twist, they begin to wonder if they'll make it home or die.

Why It Rocks

  1. It was labeled as a welcoming return for M. Night Shyamalan. This and Split.
  2. There are no real demons in this film. Just two crazy old people who behave like their possessed.
  3. Likable and charming characters, like Becca and Tyler.
  4. Some good scares from Nana, like the scene where she eats cookies and screams "YAHTZEE!!" so the camera.
  5. Plenty of funny moments from Tyler.
  6. Really unexpected twist about Nana and Pop Pop.
  7. The ending is really charming, emotional and funny.

Bad Qualities

  1. Like most found footage films, the movies gets boring at times.
  2. Tyler can be annoying at times, mainly due to his cringe worthy rapping.
