Redesign for Sonic the Hedgehog Movie
In 2014, it was announced that Sony Pictures and Marza Animation Planet were creating a movie based on the video game franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog. In 2017, the rights for the film were handed to Paramount Pictures. The movie was filmed in mid-2018 and after the first posters for the film were released, fans felt skeptical about how Sonic appeared on the posters. The first trailer for the upcoming movie was released on April 4th, 2019, which got a large amount of backlash and criticisms from fans, who's main problem was Sonic's hideous live-action design and how he looks more like a humanoid knock-off version of his video game counterpart (most notably this infamous shot). The film was originally scheduled to be released in November 2019, but after the criticisms from fans, the producers promised to fix Sonic's design, so it was pushed back to February 14th, 2020. When the next trailer for the movie came around, fans were a lot more satisfied on how Sonic appeared, praising the director for taking the time to do this and were more willing to try and give the movie a shot.
Fortunately, the film has shown to do great at the box office not only with it’s decent performances but the redesign for Sonic made it better then it already is.
