About Featured Articles | Nominate an Article

  1. You can create a page about a movie as long as it is actually good, regardless if they have a positive or negative reception from critics and audiences. Do not edit pages to suit your personal opinion.
  2. Be creative when writing a page. Do not copy your page from Wikipedia or anywhere else, unless you are inserting mere info like data about the movie's success at the box office. Any type of plagiarism will be deleted.
  3. Every page about a movie needs the "Why It Rocks" section in it. Use this section to explain why your movie is a great one; use valid and detailed reasons with actual reasoning and do your best to avoid generic stuff like "good actors/animation/soundtrack/etc", or other pointers like "this spawned memes" or anything related to trailers. Custom headings aren’t allowed due to being completely unnecessary and the potential of users inserting coarse language on the headings. Coloring names aren’t allowed, as pages must be kept simple. Plus, they show up wrong on certain devices.
  4. Do not create a page about a movie that hasn't been released yet. No exceptions.
  5. Do not create a page about trilogies/duologies/etc.; not only making a page about a single movie is simpler but every movie is different from another even if they are part of the same set. Making a page about a whole trilogy doesn't make a lot of sense if you want to say why each one of them rock.
  6. NSFW content is forbidden on this wiki.
  7. If you plan on making a sandbox, please do not use it outside of making approved pages or proposed edits to protected pages. If you wish to make unofficial pages, it is recommended to use a blog post for that.
  8. Do not create new categories; if you think a new category is needed ask the admins and they'll make it for you if your suggestion proves to be useful.
  9. Swearing is allowed only if it is not excessive and it is not directed towards other users. If you insult other people you will be permablocked.
  10. Comments will be deleted if they contain porn, nonsense, insults/harassment, and malicious propaganda.
  11. We allow memes, but please put them in the “Trivia” section if needed.
  12. Vandalism is obviously not tolerated. This includes removing content from pages, inserting gibberish and ruining the page overall.
  13. Do not add any blog posts that are hit pieces about users you don't like.
  14. Breaking any of the aforementioned rules will result in one warning. If you persevere you will be blocked for a period of time. The duration of the block will depend on the gravity of your misbehavior unless already specified in the rule.
  15. Do not send foe requests to any user, as it will likely cause drama.
  16. Do not blame politics for certain films being snubbed for awards; this would cause massive drama.
  17. Do not downvote unpopular opinions unless it happens to be offensive.
  18. Do not close threads so soon without waiting for someone else to give their two cents.
  19. Do not use terms like "Receptiontards, Receptionspergs or Receptionf**s", as they're nothing but insults to people who like the Reception Wikis and they will likely cause drama.
  20. No harmful and insulting content directed to the wikis and to their users posted off-site will be tolerated; in addition, no excuses like "it's a joke", "it is not to be taken seriously" will be valid. Regarding how old the offending content is, it will be up to the administration staff to decide but know that generally, the harmfulness of verifiable malicious content doesn't expire after a certain period of time.
