Destroy All Monsters is a 1968 Japanese monster movie. It is the 9th film in the Godzilla franchise, and was preceded by Son of Godzilla and succeeded by All Monsters Attack.

Why It Rocks

  1. Amazing special effects for their time.
  2. Destroy All Monsters features tons of monsters such as Godzilla, Minilla, Rodan, Mothra, Anguirus, Kumonga, Varan, Baragon, Manda, Gorosaurus and King Ghidorah. They did this because this film was originally intended to be the last of the Godzilla movies.
  3. Incredibly fun action sequences.
  4. The best scene in the movie is at the very end, where all of the monsters team up to fight King Ghidorah. It makes the entire film worthwhile.

Bad Qualities

  1. Despite being one of the most famous monster movies of all time due to its abundance of monsters, most of them only make brief cameo appearances, and the film seems to focus more on the human characters, which can be kind of disappointing.

Destroy All Monsters has a 71% critic rating and a 69% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a 3.3/5 on Letterboxd, and a 6.6/10 on the International Movie Database (IMDB).
