Brain Dead, known as Dead Alive in North America, is a 1992 action, horror, dark comedy, live action movie.  It was directed by Peter Jackson, written by Stephen Sinclair, storyboarded by Stephen Sinclair, Peter Jackson, and Fran Walsh, musically composed by Peter Dasent, filmed by Murray Milne, edited by Jamie Selkirk, distributed by Trimark Pictures in the United States and Canada and PolyGram Filmed Entertainment in the United Kingdom, produced by Jim Booth, WingNut Films, Avalon Studios Limited, and The New Zealand Film Commission, and it starred Timothy Balme, Diana Peñalver, Ian Watkin, and Elizabeth Moody.  

Why It Rocks

  1. Great acting.  
  2. This movie is a gore hound's favorite.  It's so gory and disgusting that movie theaters actually had to supply barf bags when it was originally released.  
  3. Excellent soundtrack.  
  4. The film is littered with tons of entertaining characters, the biggest highlight being the Kung Fu Priest.  
  5. Outstanding special effects.  
  6. Tons of extrememly memorable quotes, such as 'I KICK ASS FOR THE LORD!" said by the aforementioned Kung Fu Priest.  
  7. Incredible dark comedy.
